You probably noticed on the title page that we usually have a theme for each session.

!! Note however - this is not compulsory, we don't want to scare anyone off from joining us if they can't think of a song or tune that doesn't fit the theme!!

Since records started in 2008, we have had about a hundred and forty different themes.

The most popular are listed below....

Christmas/Winter; Clothing; Animals; Fire; Numbers; Spring; Summer; Animal - Vegetable - Mineral; Crime and Punishment; Earth; Food and drink; Love; Love and marriage; Water; Colour; Humour; March; Occupations; Party pieces; Place Names; Rogues and vagabonds; Scottish; The Sky; Time; Transport.

It's worth noting that there is often a degree of ingenuity by some participants in fitting an obscure reference to fit the theme.

It's also worth noting that there are no prizes for maximising the number of thematic references to be made in any particular song!
